Little Lagoon Preservation Society (LLPS) members and the public are invited to attend a quarterly meeting. Eric L. Sparks, Ph.D., Assistant Extension Professor with Mississippi State University and Coastal Ecology Specialist with Mississippi-Alabama Sea Grant, will speak about living shoreline solutions vs. hardened shorelines around Little Lagoon. He will speak not only about the importance of living shorelines to the health of our Lagoon but will emphasize what private property owners can do if they are experiencing shoreline loss/erosion. Owners will have an opportunity to discuss and ask questions about their property and possible solutions based on their own situation.
We will meet on Thursday, April 20, 2017 5:30 p.m., at the Gulf Shores Activity Center. The first half hour of the meeting provides an opportunity to meet, mingle and enjoy refreshments. The program begins at 6, and will include a question-and-answer period.
